This notice explains how Lion handles information when you use Yichen Wang’s website, AI portfolio guide, feedback controls, or message courier.

What Lion is
Lion is an AI-assisted guide to Yichen’s professional background and portfolio. It answers from active, public-ready sources selected by Yichen. Generated answers can be incomplete or mistaken, so important claims should be checked against the linked source or confirmed with Yichen.
What is processed
When public AI chat is enabled, the question you enter, a limited conversation history, retrieved public portfolio excerpts, and Lion’s answer are processed to provide the service. Feedback such as “Helpful” or “Needs work” is connected to the relevant answer. Please do not enter confidential, sensitive, or special-category personal data.
AI provider
Lion uses the OpenAI API for language generation and safety moderation. Requests use store: false, so Lion does not ask OpenAI to store Responses application state. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models unless the API customer opts in; standard abuse-monitoring logs may be retained by OpenAI for up to 30 days. See OpenAI’s data controls.
Retention and identifiers
Public chat sessions and their messages expire after 30 days and can be cleared earlier from the chat. Lion stores pseudonymous, keyed identifiers for a visitor and network to keep sessions separate, apply abuse controls, and support auditing. The Lion chat database does not store raw IP addresses, browser cookies, API keys, or account credentials.
Public and private sources
Public Lion can retrieve only sources marked both active and public-ready. Drafts, private knowledge, admin conversations, credentials, and unpublished portal records are excluded from public retrieval. Source links are shown with answers when they directly support a claim.
Safety and human review
Questions and generated answers pass safety controls. Prompt-injection and unsafe requests may be blocked and stored only as sanitized placeholders. Yichen can review a private audit containing questions, answers, grounding status, citations, feedback, token usage, estimated cost, and pseudonymous visitor labels.
Messages to Yichen
If you ask Lion to carry a message, your email address, optional name, and message are sent to Yichen through the Resend email service. Your email is used so Yichen can reply. Delivery attempts use pseudonymous anti-abuse identifiers; delivered messages remain in Yichen’s email account until handled or deleted there.
Your choices
You can explore the website without using AI chat, clear an existing Lion conversation, or contact Yichen directly. To ask about stored information or request deletion of an identifiable message you sent, email yichenwang.tech@gmail.com. Anonymous or pseudonymous chat records may not be linkable back to you.
Optional voice typing
Voice typing starts only when you choose the microphone and allow access. Recognition uses the selected site language: English or Mandarin Chinese. Your browser may process audio through its speech service; this website receives no audio. Lion receives the resulting text only when you choose Ask Lion. Review or edit it before sending. You can stop or cancel dictation at any time, and typing remains available when voice is unsupported.
Language preference
On your first visit, an approximate country signal from our hosting provider selects Simplified Chinese for mainland China and English elsewhere or when unavailable. You can change this at any time. A first-party language cookie and local storage remember your choice for future visits; the cookie lasts one year. No additional IP address is stored for this feature.
